Top Care Korea Ltd. has announced the signing of a strategic agreement with Exalenz Corporation. The objective of the agreement is to build closer collaboration between the companies in marketing and product distribution in Korea. The agreement also gives Top Care Korea exclusive rights to distribute Exalenz’s BreathID® System in Korea. Top Care Korea plans to launch BreathID® System in first half of 2008. With reference to the BreathID® System, Dr. Myung Gyu, Choi, Professor, Catholic University of Korea, said, ”The test using specific 13C-labelled substrates can be applied to different target organs or disorders, that is, detecting presence of H. pylori(13C-Urea), Gastric Emptying Rate(13C-octanoic acid), Liver function test. 13C is a stable radioactive isotope without radiation, so this test can be performed for even pregnant women and paediatric patients. The test procedure is very simple. The 13C-labelled substrate is administered to the patient and vital diagnostic information from subtle changes in the patient's exhaled breath is extracted. Its simplicity makes it the best method available for the patients with serious case in intensive care unit or in a hospital room, allowing testing without active patient cooperation. “ |
