Three Palm Software LLC has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its WorkstationOne(TM) Breast Imaging workstation. The workstation is a software system, which can be installed on an off-the-shelf general purpose computer. It is designed for softcopy reading and interpretation of digital mammography images, and was developed with the objective of helping radiologists to read digital mammograms efficiently. WorkstationOne consists of expert viewing methodology, with Tabar's systematic viewing technique intended for searching subtle abnormalities on the mammograms. Referring to the WorkstationOne, Dr. Laszlo Tabar, Professor of Radiology, School of Medicine, University of Uppsala, said, "WorkstationOne's unique reading protocol provides a very efficient environment for reading digital mammography exams."
