HydroCision’s New Oval Tip SpineJet XL(R) Fusion Instruments
HydroCision Inc. has announced the launch of its new SpineJet XL Oval tip fluidjet instruments. The new Oval tip is designed to enter the tight disc spaces and it provides surgeons with a new tool that offers a solution to the disc preparation challenges inherent in spinal fusion procedures.
The SpineJet XL Fusion Preparation System allows surgeons to prepare disc spaces for graft implantation during open or minimally invasive lumbar interbody fusion procedures more effectively. The SpineJet XL removes 95% more posterior contralateral nucleus than conventional devices and its unique tip design protects against annular penetration. The SpineJet XL reduces passes in and out of the intervertebral space by up to 65%.
The power of fluidjet technology and the curette design are combined in this fluidjet-powered tool. This permits surgeons to simultaneously cut, ablate and remove hard or soft tissue – such as disc nucleus and endplate cartilage – quickly, safely and effectively, significantly reducing the need for additional instruments. This system is designed to work in conjunction with all currently available minimally invasive access systems.
The SpineJet XL can overcome the problem of removing disc material usually associated with minimally invasive surgery. It enables the removal of disc material without the use of classical mechanical disc removal tools, thus making sure that fusion can occur.
